The new space-age development is situated on the former ‘solid rocket motor testing’ area of the Park known as the Westcott Western Development Area. This area was granted Enterprise Zone status to attract further space propulsion and environmental engineering businesses to the site.
Reaction Engines which is based in Culham, Oxfordshire will use the new facility to test and develop a new class of innovative hypersonic and space-access propulsion system – the Synergetic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine (SABRE).
Rockspring Hanover Property Unit Trust invest heavily in sustainable growth and future prosperity of the Park. This project involved recycling demolished old bunkers and roadways which were crushed to form the bund surrounding the Reaction Engines facility.
