FREE HR Drop-in Clinic coming to Westcott Venture Park, Building 330

Embrace HR Limited is inviting all businesses at Westcott to attend a FREE HR Drop-in Clinic which will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at Building 330.

As a business owner, whether you directly employ staff, work with contractors or work with casual staff, you may have a burning question about working with people. There is a plethora of employment regulation to sift through so Embrace HR is offering to listen to you and to point you in the right direction - saving you time and effort in your search for the answer.

Every business needs to keep on top of HR but overstretched owners may not have the time and resources to do so.

Embrace HR’s experts Cecily Lalloo and Misty McCrory can take the onus off you and your staff should any HR process go awry. Come and speak with them to gain advice and access to skills and knowledge, HR software enabling you to manage holidays and absences, calculating sick pay and maternity leave, and onboarding new employees.

HR questions to consider

• Do my employees have an employment contract? Employment contracts should comply with the employment legislation and should set out employment rights, as well as the responsibilities and duties that you expect your employees to work to when they are employed by you.

• Are my staff records up to date and are they being stored properly? Rules surrounding the content and storage of employee files and the way businesses handle them are strict.

• Do my employees have a staff handbook and do all employees have access to it? Any staff handbook needs to have up-to-date procedures and best practice.

• Are my policies and procedures up to date and compliant with current legislation? When were they last reviewed?

• Am I recruiting new staff as quickly as I would like? Do I need help with staff recruitment and retention?

• Is there a performance review process in place?
