Westcott warmly welcomes Airspeed Electronics and 360 Properties which have made new homes at Building 330.

Deep Tech systems company Airspeed Electronics has moved from Bedfordshire to Westcott to further develop its counter-drone technology.  It is developing an acoustic sensing system called MANTIS, which uses Edge Computing and Convolutional Neural Networks to detect, locate and track drones for Counter-UAS applications.  This work has been funded through research grants awarded by the UK Ministry of Defence.

Airspeed which was established in 2018 joins the growing number of drone companies at Westcott alongside Flare Bright, Future Networks Development Centre and Nexus Nine which recently moved into Building 330.

Ben Cook, Managing Director at Airspeed said: “Westcott was the perfect choice for Airspeed as it provides the physical space to conduct field trials to test our sensor systems. It also positions Airspeed within the Westcott ecosystem of drone companies which will enable us to collaborate with likeminded businesses. I look forward to meeting the other businesses based at the park.”

Estate agents, 360 Properties is run by husband and wife team Francis and Emma Buchanan. The company recently acquired a small letting company in Aylesbury adding to its existing rental portfolio and are in the process of launching a branch in Hartlepool.  This will provide their southern based investor landlords a great opportunity to acquire property in the North East delivering excellent yields.

Francis Buchanan, Managing Director said: “With the ever-changing market 99.2% of potential property buyers look online so the need to have premises on the High Street are diminishing. For us it’s all about a nice location for our team and Westcott provides the right environment.”

Jayne Cannell, Business Park Manager explains: “I am pleased to welcome Airspeed and 360 Properties to Westcott and to the Building 330 serviced office community.  As more companies join us it will help build a thriving and interesting environment for businesses and individuals to meet each other and exchange views and exciting ideas.”

Further serviced office space remains available at Building 330 inclusive of electricity, heating, and business rates along with free parking. For more information, please contact Jayne Cannell JCannell@lsh.co.uk
